Optical Test Equipment

Optical Testing Laboratory provides a range of custom and stock measuring and test equipment and standards. We have designed and built custom equipment for testing armored glass, riflescopes, binoculars, camera lenses, and many other applications.

The OTL MB104Z and MB104W are optical benches designed specifically for the intraocular lens industry, including measurements of IOL power, resolution, all as per ISO 11979-2. We also provide certification services for calibration standard lenses.

We also provide stock and custom dioptometers, optical benches, reticles, and calibration standard lenses. All of our measuring and test equipment come with certificates traceable to NIST.

MB104Z

The MB104Z is designed for testing production lots of IOLs in air, as per ISO 11979-2. The bench comes with a software package that calculates IOL power based on the measured back focal length of the lens, and resolution efficiency based on the AFT reading. Positive, negative and zero power lenses can be tested.
The software generates reports for each lot of lenses, with pass/fail determinations for power and image quality based on user provided criteria. Reports are saved for later use, and may also be printed. Also included is a set of calibration standard lenses.

MB104W

The MB104W is designed for testing production lots of I0Ls in a wet cell, which is necessary for some types of lenses. The bench comes with a software package for calculating IOL power and resolution base on the measured back focal length and AFT reading.

The software generates reports for each lot of lenses, with pass/fail determinations for power and image quality base on user provided criteria. Reports are saved for later use, and can be printed. Also included is a set of calibration standard lenses.

D-745

The D-745 dioptometer is designed to measure optical power and has a range of +4 to -7 diopters. It can be used to check or set the eyepiece adjustment of various types of instruments. It is readable to 0.2 D and is accurate to 0.05 D.

Calibration Lenses

We can provide certified calibration standard lenses of almost and type and power, from singlets to multi-element lenses. We certify the focal length and resolution at client specified aperture and wavelength. Each lens comes with a certificate of traceability.
